Deep Associates Insurance Agency Inc. came together as a merger of three
firms, all with an emphasis on service and reliability.
It was originally founded by Edwin A. French in 1932 after having
been in the insurance business for 43 years. From our beginning in Post Office Square we have enjoyed a steady growth
over the years. We have earned our reputation for professionalism due to the special attention given to the needs, requirments,
and details of our clients.
For the 46 years between 1932 and 1978, E.A. French Insurance Agency offered its services to the citizens of the Northern
Berkshire communities. The agency stood by its clients through many changes, not only in insurance, but
industry as well. Together they watched television reception come to Berkshire County, Sprague Electric pass the $1
million mark in profits for the first time due to the sales of capacitors for TV's, and experienced the opening
of the North Adams Hospital. They also witnessed the 2.7 million dollar Urban renewal program in Berkshire County.
In 1966, E.A. French Insurance Agency sold to Thomas R. King. Raymond P. Betit joined E.A. French as manager of
the Fire and Casualty Department.
In 1974, Michael A. Deep, the current principal, purchased and became what we are today, Deep Associates Insurance
Agency, Inc.
Our firm remained based on the same principals it was founded on over 70
years ago, to provide efficient, expert solutions to businesses and individuals, focusing on service and reliability.
Today, our primary services include Property and Casualty Insurance, and Bonding.
Our staff serves a wide range of individuals, corporations, partnerships,
and non-profit organizations throughout Berkshire County and beyond. We strongly believe in supporting our local community.
